How Ages & Levels Work at Bloom

Our levels are based on age and experience. Click on each each level to learn more about the classes offered, dress code and attire, and more.

Please note: The Lilies and Bouquets levels are based on instructor approval (not strictly age). Learn more here. >

Seedlings (2 - 3 years / Toddler and Preschool):
Seedlings classes are the perfect intro for our littlest dancers. Young dancers who are just getting started will begin with our Dance With Me (2 years) classes, or our Creative Movement (Pre-Ballet) and Tiny Tumblers (Pre-Acro) classes (3 years).

Adult Classes are for those ages 18+, who have graduated from high school.

Adult Ballet: Ballet is the foundation of all dance. Taking ballet as an adult allows us to build our strength, improve our coordination, and experience the beauty of this form of dance. Each class will include barre work, center floor technique and across the floor combinations. We welcome adults that are new to ballet, as well as experienced dancers!

Adult Tap: Excited about dance but not quite sure if it's for you? Come to Adult Tap! Tap dance is a great way to reduce stress and have fun while getting in some good exercise and an opportunity to challenge yourself! At Adult Tap we will focus on the beginning and intermediate skills of tap dancing and after a short time you're making music with your feet! This class is for both beginner and experienced tappers.

Adult Hip Hop: Using upbeat music, hip hop class focuses on rhythm, musicality and basic footwork. It is a great way to get moving to some great tunes! Hip Hop dance will build your strength and stamina while having a blast with your fellow hip hoppers! This class is for both new and experienced dancers.

Bloom Leveling for Teen Classes (Ages 13–18)

At Bloom, our teen classes are designed to support dancers as they continue to grow in both skill and confidence. Dancers are placed within one of our three leveled class tracks — Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced — to ensure they’re challenged appropriately and set up for success.

  • No audition is required.

  • Advancement to the next level is based on instructor recommendation from the previous year.

  • New to dance or trying a new style? Dancers should plan to start in Novice to build a strong foundation.

  • Dancers can be anywhere from ages 13–18 in all three levels. Any dancer who shows readiness for the next level, will be given a recommendation.

  • Breakdown of three levels:

    • Novice: Dancers ages 13-18

    • Intermediate: Dancers aged 13-18 with Instructor Approval

    • Advanced: Dancers aged 13-18 with Instructor Approval

Each level is thoughtfully designed to help dancers refine their technique, artistry, and performance quality while continuing to find joy in their training.

Registration Process

  • Returning Bloom Dancer: Novice will always appear in your portal if you are 13-18. If you have been approved for Intermediate or Advanced and took the style in the previous season, this recommendation will also show up in your parent portal.
